Louise has been been teaching and performing Bellydance (or Raks Sharqi) for twelve years having lived in Turkey more than fourteen years ago where she worked with both cabaret bellydancers, folk dancers and musicians on a daily basis, she learnt a love of the dance, music and culture tha has remained with her ever since.

On her return to the UK, Louise was determined to become a dancer and share her understanding of the knowlege and culture, at a time when bellydance was a small but growing art form.

After atending a JWAAD summer school that year, Louise began to teach a class in a small town called Grimsby. Louise has continued to study the dance by attending workshops and summer schools by atending JWAAD, Ford and theFarida Cairo Rakisan trip, and has trained with top dancers and choreographers including Dina, Rhanda, Soyrai, Rakia Hassan, Josephine Wise, Leyla Haddad, Kay Taylor and many others.

Louise has gone on to be a qualified adult education teacher and has worked for many education authorities across the Yorkshire and Humber region. Alongside this she has performed and facilitaed workshops at many festivals, events and venues across the UK over the years. This has given Louise a unique perspective and understanding of how to share her knowlege and how students learn and understand the culture of Raks Sharqi.

However the real purpose and mission for Louise on this journey has been to bring the culture, joy and traditions of this high art form to those who attend her classes, workshops and performances but more than that, to enable any woman that she can dance, be beautiful and be confident. After all she can't help it, she is a woman.
